Volkswagen Arteon given price drop with new entry-level SE model

Published 30 July 2019

The Volkswagen Arteon now starts at £33,085 thanks to a new entry-level SE model.

Sitting below the Elegance and R-Line specifications in the Arteon range, the SE features 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights and adaptive cruise control as standard.

It also uses the new 9.2-inch touchscreen navigation system, recently introduced on the updated Passat. This brings with it Volkswagen’s Wireless App Connect system which allows Apple CarPlay and Android Auto users to access their phone functions without needing to plug the device in.

The Arteon SE will initially be available only with a 2.0-litre TSI 190PS combined with a DSG automatic gearbox. Volkswagen's new 2.0-litre TDI 150PS unit will follow in the coming months, with a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG gearboxes.

Changes of the official CO2 emission figures have also been announced, with the 2.0-litre 190PS diesel four-wheel-drive model now emitting 161g/km, decreasing the cost of annual VED car tax by £320, reducing the car's on-the-road price to £39,025 in Elegance trim and £39,825 for the sportier R-Line.

Orders for the new Volkswagen Arteon SE open this week with deliveries expected later in the year.
