Toyota reveals new Aygo prices

Published 06 June 2014

Toyota has revealed prices for the new Aygo which goes on sale on July 1. The cheapest version will cost £8595 which is less than an entry-level Volkswagen Up. Toyota is offering a customer saving of £600 which brings it down further to £7995.

As before, the Aygo has two french counterparts in the shape of the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 108 which also go on sale this summer. The Aygo will come in both three and five door bodystyles with three trim levels, x, x-play and x-pression. Two special editions are also available, x-cite and x-clusiv.

Five paint colours are available - White Flash, Silver Splash, Electro Grey, Deep Blue Buzz and Red Pop. The x-cite will be offered only in Orange Twist and the x-clusiv in Bold Black.

Customisation is a key part of the Aygo and features like the x-shape on the front to the seats and instrument panel can be personalised.

Aygo x models come with 14-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, a two-speaker stereo with USB connection, electric front windows, Isofix points, stability control (VSC), driver, front passenger and curtain airbags plus a tyre pressure monitor.

The x-play adds 15-inch wheels, a paino black front x finish, body coloured door handles and mirrors, leather steering wheel and gear lever, four-speaker stereo, Bluetooth, multifunction steering wheel, driver's seat adjustment, rev counter and 50/50 split folding rear seats.

Aygo x-pression models get 15-inch alloys, a piano black rear bumper insert, piano black on the windscreen pillars, front fog lights, part-leather sports-style seats, chrome internal door handles, a body-coloured instrument panel, DAB, a rearview camera and the x-touch multimedia system.

There are a range of customisation packs available. The OUTstand pack, priced at £395, gets you the three exterior features – the front X and windscreen-pillar and rear bumper insert, in a choice of three colours.

Meanwhile, the £245 OUTburst pack includes a front bumper decal, side sills and rear diffuser decal, available in red or chrome. The interior can be upgraded with the INspire pack priced at £165, which gets you surrounds for the air vents and gear shift to match any exterior colour. The similarly priced INtense pack adds body colour-matched instrument panel, centre console and gear surround. Buyers can also have the roof of their Aygo covered in a contrasting coloured decal (£195).

Unless the Citroen or Peugeot version of this car are considerably cheaper, the Toyota will be the one to go for due to the 5 year warranty
