Improved Mercedes-Benz G-Class on sale from £82,945

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been in production in one form or another since the late 1970s, and has since undergone constant development. The latest model is available now, priced from £82,945, and it benefits from upgraded specification, styling tweaks and an improved drivetrain.

That £82,945 will get you a G350 BlueTEC, powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with 211PS, fuel consumption of 25.2mpg and emissions of 295g/km. This engine now produces one more PS, which is pretty inconsequential, but the majority of the improvements are inside.

COMAND Online is now fitted as standard, as is Parktronic parking assistance, improved Harman Kardon audio, leather upholstery, heated seats front and rear plus a new instrument cluster. There are also LED daytime running lights and new alloy wheels.

As well as the G350 BlueTEC, Mercedes-Benz is now selling the G63 AMG in the UK. Power comes from a hand-built 5.5-litre bi-turbo engine with 544PS and 760Nm of torque. Emissions are 322g/km and fuel economy is 20.5mpg.

The G63 is distinguished from other G-Class models by larger 20 inch wheels, twin exhaust pipes, chrome details, wheel arch extensions and an AMG radiator grille. The interior also benefits from AMG details in the leather upholstery, the door sills and the instrument cluster. The G63 AMG is priced at £123,115.
