Vauxhall Corsa C - MAP sensor - Felixthecat

Hi

I had an engine management light come on on my wifes Corsa. Its 2008 1.2 model. The code was 0068 MAF/MAP sensor. All the breather pipes and pipes to the sensor were a bit 'gungy' and have been cleaned. Following this the car starts and runs better but the engine management light came back on after a few miles of driving.

Is it possible to clean the MAP sensor and if so what with? I dont want to just replace it as they are £100.

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks

Mark

Carb cleaner, or brake cleaner

Disconnect the MAF sensor and if their is no difference in the engine performance you have found your fault.

Many thanks, however the warning light went out with no intervention two days ago and has not come back on!

I cleaned out the MAP on my Rover (MEMS ignition module) with carb cleaner. I then put a small filter in line to keep the gunge out of it. Just clean out the filter each service.

I've cleaned my Saabs MAF with carb cleaner too
