Will having different speed rated tyres fitted result in an MoT failure?
My SEAT Mii Electric is fitted with 81 V rated tyres. I had a new tyre fitted but the fitter fitted 81H rated tyres. It is well within the max speed of the car which is only 80mph. Is this likely to result in an MoT failure?

In respect of passing an MoT, the inspection manual states that tyres must meet the load capacity and speed rating in accordance with the minimum requirements, and tyres on the same axle are the same size and the same structure. We would suggest checking the vehicle handbook for the minimum speed rating for your vehicle, but looking online at blackcircles.com it recommends the specification H 81, so this would suggest it is at or above the minimum requirement. Ideally you should have tyres with the same speed and load rating on the same axle.
