Unfortunately my wife has had a smallishh bump, hitting another car from behind. Insurance company has already written it off due to there estimate of repairs being miore than car's worth.

Nissan Microa Profile 'V' 1999, 75K on the clock good condition.

What would be the best outcome to accept? Would it be to accept the car valuation given by the insurance company and do the repairs myself to get it on the road again.

I have seen very similar cars on Autotrader fro £900 and what car's free valuation suggesting £900 dealer price / £815 private.

Would the insurance company give me fair value? In other words should I only accept near the figures mentioned and nothing less or are they usually way off the mark?
