Hi Wondering if anyone can help, I've got a 1.4 16v golf (basic model) on 115,000 miles that has just started to vibrate whilst it's on idle (getting worse), seems to vanish and drives well once given a bit of throttle. Just had it at the garage and he's told me it wasn't firing on all cylinders - has had a replacement part to do with (injection?) but vibration not resolved and he suggests a throttle body problem but as he knows I'm on a budget he told me that a throttle body was very expensive to replace. Do I need to replace it or is there anyother solution or part that might be causing this problem.

It doesn't seem to matter if it's cold or not either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh I'm not really able to do the work myself as I'm not particularly practical when it comes to cars.
