I like the idea of repairing damaged cars and selling them on. Would like to start of with some basic repairs and maybe move up to something a bit more complicated.
Have spent the last few years repairing our own cars, but looking for a challenge that doesn't require the car to be ready to a time scale. Happy to turn my hand to anything!
Has any one any experience of this? Any tips on what to look for, what to stay away from, what not to do? I am aware of how insurance companies classify write-off (CAT A, B, C and D). Thinking on looking at CAT D initially as it seems to require a lot less paperwork, and damage will be less.
What about parts? Little point in getting a cheap car, and spend a load of dosh on dealer parts to repair. Would tend to look at car breakers/gumtree for parts to keep the costs down. Any ideas on this front.
Looking forward to your views.
