Wouldn't it be cheaper to have a car + chauffeur for hire?

Its called a taxi! we were in london last week and as there were 4 of us we shared taxis and all in all it was a good experience for mostly less than zone 1 and 2 tickets, without the sardine packed tubes and the lines out of order, route diversions and replacement buses... and the bus drivers trained in how to lurch away...and non emergency emergency braking tests. but parking at westfield in shepherds bush for £7.50 a day. what a bargain.

It's amazing how so many towns and cities practice vindictive hate against the motorcar and then wonder why all their shops are closing.

Their 'solution' is to lobby government to force out of town shopping centres to charge for parking.

I agree totally with Jamie I recently visited my Mother in the UK she lives close to Bradford I had to go into the centre I was so surprised as to how much it had deterioted since the last visit to cap it all there seemed to be an army of Traffic control officers very expensive and very little parking .There was a multitude of empty shops plenty of drug dealers, filthy streets with plenty of drunkards and beggars and no effective police and no workable public transport.
