GM Chevrolet/Vauxhall - Spare parts costs - oldroverboy

As Most of you already know, I won't elaborate too much, but here goes.

A Cruze is basically an Astra on the same platform.

An Aveo = Corsa, captiva = antara.

Having just bought a cruze petrol found that parts without the D prefix are vauxhall same part number, different packaging. oil filter £6.75 +vat vauxhall, chevrolet is £10.49 +vat .

Will GM never learn. Snd the examples go on.. Well I suppose that someone has to pay for the sponsorship of Glazer united up in Manchester, (and I am neutral as far as football goes, just enjoy a game with a few goals).

There seems to be a concept within GM that the higher the original car selling price, the lower the spares prices - all those Vauxhall owners who customise their cars were very grateful to be able to buy parts cheaper at Saab dealers than Vauxhall ones.

It's no consolation in the case of Chevrolet but the other Koreans do the same thing - Kia spares are cheaper than Hyundai ones, now that all Kia's are built on Hyundai platforms.

Buy from factors in Poland -- it's what I did when I owned a Daewoo.

Chevrolets common there, and parts from there are cheaper than Vauxhall are over here even when delivery is factored in.
