I have a SEAT Altea XL bought new from Perrys SEAT of Aylesbury in April 2007. It has been serviced and, when appropriate, MOT tested by Perrys SEAT at Aylesbury annually until 2011.
This year I was in Edinburgh in April and the servicing and MOT testing were done by Arnold Clark SEAT in Edinburgh.
I had reported a steering noise but the vehicle was returned serviced and with an MOT certificate and no comment about the noise.
The noise has persisted, and possibly become worse, but I have been unable to take the matter up with Arnold Clark in Edinburgh or Perrys in Aylesbury as I have had to be in London meantime.
Today I realised that the noise was occurring whenever I turn the steering wheel. It's noticeable only at low speeds. The car otherwise drives as well as ever, and normally.
Can anyone suggest the cause of the noise? Can anyone say whether it woould be risky to the car or me to drive it to Edinburgh, where I have to be soon, to take the matter up with Arnold Clark SEAT, or should I have it seen to here in London?
