Peugeot Expert diesel - massive miles - worth the risk? - spring

What we have to do for the kids. Daughter's existing car got to go. She would like next to be OK for camping/DIY etc. Expert/Dispatch seem right, and, after surfing for days we,ve found, not a mile away, a one owner (printing delivery) Expert 08 plate (new model) recent MOT, full service included

It is in excellent internal and external condition, claims FSH which I would of course check and is on local garage forecourt at £3995. The milage is 184K..

I have absulutely no personal experience of a vehicle over about 100K and would much appreciate comments. Is there any other possible response than that this vehicle would be a disaster?

Thanks in advance

Colin

With that many miles on an 08 plate, it must have been sat on the motorway all day every day. Perfect.

I have a 54 plate Berlingo with 107,000 miles and depsite being built to a price (It is a Citroen) has held together very well.

I'd be tempted by this. Check the FSH includes timing belt/water pump/rollers.

If you get it have all the fluids changed (Gearbox oil, power steering, brake fluid, coolant) and get another 100,000 miles out of it!

This vehicle and the previous model (whether Pug or Fiat badged, same thing) are the basis for Eurotaxi.

Not chosen for its good looks, but its ability to run for astonishing mileages economically, circa twice or thrice the present figure.

Subject to a thorough inspection and scrutiny of service records i'd not be put off by the mileage.
