Much better to buy a Vectra because thats what it is and poor build quality included ,if you insist on a Saab then you should pay no more than 4k parts should be readily available as they are as said before its just a Vectra body parts could be a problem only time will tell.

You're thinking of the 9-5, not the 9-3. The 9-3 isn't, AFAIK, related to the Vectra.

Misterbonus, take a look at http://www.saabtechtalk.com/forum/index.php?board=6.0 for a flavour of what sort of issues you might have to deal with. But remember people only post when they have problems, not when everything is hunk dory!

Future value will be an issue, it's not a classic and probably never will be, so don't expect to be pleasantly surprised a few years down the line! Saabs have always depreciated heavily, but can be excellent used buys. Parts availability isn't likely to be a problem for a few years (IMHO, of course).

I had a 53 plate 93 Vector SS from new, and they aren't great cars really.

I'd say though if you can negotiate the right price they are still worth buying though as they depreciate quite ra[pidly in the first couple of years.

My appologies even the 95 is Vectra based from 2003 I had a 56 plate sportwagen I can only say it leaved a lot to be desired even the keys fall to bits..
