Mazda6 - rear washer not working - Tally

Does the rear washer need to be working to pass the MOT my 06 plate Mazda6 has stopped pumping solution out , i can hear the motor going and feel water pressure leaving the pump bit it just bubbles at the rear window nozzle any ideas please on how to fixit

The rear wash/wipe system is not part of the mot test.Sounds like there is a blockage or a pipe joint come adrift somewhere or possible jet blocked.hth

As above - it's not a part of the MOT

Chances are the problem is caused by an inferior ford part which they shifted to mazda

Last time I heard that said was by a Mazda salesman when I moaned about the seats on a Mazda 6 I was test driving.

in the bootlid, pull the placcy bit of trim off the inside at the top of the boot (i.e. directly behind the washer nozzle). Once it's off and with the bootlid open, try squirting the rear washer it and see what happens. The pipe can split/come adrift here and then the water can dribble into the boot (as mine was). If you don't use the boot or the washer a lot, then you might not notice as it can evaporate before you ever open the boot again.

Really? I quite like the mazda 6 seats - very comfortable. Which model was this on?

Good news though - ford only owns 5% of mazda now, so reliability is likely to be on the up again! woop woop!
