peugeot 306 xsi 1999 - 306 xsi non starter - sonicste

had a flat battery this morning its be on its way out so invested in a new one after work
fitted but the car will not start just turns over and over and i have no idea where to start
i did use jump leads to get it running this morning and it started straight away
since fitting the new batteryi have no dash lights when trying to start not even hand break light
the only light that comes on is the battery light

Check your battery connections and also the earth connection to the gearbox/engine.
