Peugeot 308 1.6 2008 - Purge Valve - nico77

Hi,

Does anyone know where the purge valve is situated on the above car.

There is a fairly loud ticking that sounds as though it coming from the LHR of the engine that 'switches' on and off and I think it may be the purge valve.

cheers

Why are you concerned about this? Unless the ticking sound is deafening it's quite normal.....

Thanks for answering.

I just read that you can isolate the valve to quieten it but have since read that it is integral with the the charcoal cannister and so probably can't isolate it and the cannister may even be acting as a sound box maybe. Do you know where it is? The noise sounds as though it is coming from the lhr of the engine whereas on other peugeots it seems the valve and cannister are behind the rhf wheelarch liner at the back .

Cheers

If you disconnect it , it may build up excessive pressure in the tank ! leave alone, it should chatter, its working

Again thanks for answering.

When I said isolate it I didn't mean disconnect it. I meant to move it somewhere it wouldn't resonate so much. I understand it makes a ticking noise naturally.

I suppose I want to make sure it actually is the purge valve making the noise as it seems to be coming from LHR of the engine and other peugeot models (207 / 307) have the valve and cannister situated behind the rear of the LHF wheelarch liner. In the end if the noise is supposed to be there I'm not worried.
