Hi all

I have experienced my 2009 2.0 tdi gt 140ps mk6 golf cut out twice since i picked it up on tuesday (2 days).

it was a part ex where the person was buying a brand new version of the same car.

the engine light didn't come on it just cut out, both times clutch depressed at low speeds so it wasn't in drive more like close to idle

i have previously owned japanese cars only so i am a little worried about reliability already. it is under 1 year warranty but i have just read up on the injector problems in vw engines.

is this likely to be the issue or is that not longer an issue for my engine?

Hi,

It shouldn't be the injector issue which afflicts some VAG diesels as the 140ps engine in the Golf was never affected by this. Also you may well find that your 2009 car is common rail anyway, which again doesn't have this injector problem.

we used to have quite a few of something similar and it could be the intake valve sticking causing the car to stall...but also the lift pump in the tanks could also be a potential source of problem .
