Hi, sorry if i've posted this in the wrong place,but i'm new on here and really need some advice.

i've just bought a 97 reg, vectra 2.0 di ls. she starts first time, no engine knocks, absolutely no smoke,no oil leaks, shes a bit juddery some times when first moving off,but if she has a bit more throttle is fine, how ever when shes going up hill she seems to lose power , unless she has a fair run at it first, but then usually by the time i head for home she doesnt lose power any where near as much. has anyone any ideas what could be wrong? i've read some of the forums on the egr valve and her symptoms dont seem to match. i'm female so any comments in plain english would be appreciated!! cheers

There are a number of things it could be but yout need to get the fault codes read, go to a diesel specialist rather than the dealer - they usually know what they are doing.

hi, thanks for that, she went on the diagnostics computer thing, but nothing showed up.

Did they do any actual diagnostics, or did they just try to read fault codes?

A failing MAF sensor is a common cause of power loss, and will not set a trouble code, but should be obvious with a quick look at Live Data diagnostics.

Hi to be honest i'm not sure if it was actual diagnostics or not, alls he told me was that the diagnostics test showed no issues.
