Recently had my No1 injector and wiring loom replaced under extended warranty. VW refused to pay for new wiring loom (£60) but dealer had repaired & returned car to me before this became an issue. I have so far refused to pay as I believe looms are often damaged when removing from connector to injector.
This all follows previous warranty problem with locking system when I was locked out. VW dealer had to break window to gain entry to then do diagnostic - the repair to the locking system was covered by warranty but not the window damage or diagnostic cost, even though fault was covered by warranty. Cost to me £140.
I think VW & dealer should offer goodwill on loom cost in light of my experiences, but thus far fallen on deaf ears. There seems to be manufacturing fault with the piezo injectors but no one at VW is prepared to admit it. How likely is it that the other injectors may fail? Car is 2007, with 49,800 miles. Should I be seeking to get rid of it sooner rather than later?
