Zafira - Tyre size - daview

Hi the tyres on my Zafira are currently 205/55/R16 which are currently in need of replacing. I havebeen offered a set of 205/60/R16 from a friends car. They obviously fit and I know they will putthe speedo outslightly but is there any other reason why I shouldnt fit them???

Unless they are a size (check speed and load ratings too) specified for the car they are a modification and you should inform your insurers, who may make a charge and could refuse cover, though unlikely.

There's no guarantee that the tyres won't catch on wheelarches or similar over undulations and or turns, they are 61.83mm larger in rolling circumference, approx 3.24%, which to be fair isn't much.

Check your handbook or Haynes manual for tyre options, then the choice is yours.

Cheers Gordon I had worked out about the same so was thinking along the lines of its the difference between a new tyre and a worn tyre!

They could effect your braking could effect your handling and also most surely will effect your insurance.
