1997 VW Polo - VW Polo Boot lock spinning - kajakin
Only yesterday did I repair the drivers side lock on my vw polo with one of the £10 repair kits from ebay, and today the boot lock has stopped working.

When the key is in the lock I am able to spin it quite easily with no resistance, does anyone know if this is likely to be a similar problem to the broken paddle I had in the drivers door lock?

Also, how will I be able to open the boot to get a look at the lock mechanism??

i had the same problem on a doblo fiat van. when I looked under the cards, the door mechanism had a lever which when pushed made the lock turn and turn. i would guess this is a common way for locks to act. hopefully you can pull off the trim and look inside to find out.

If you can fold the rear seat backs down you may be able to get at the lock and unlatch it.
