Ford Mondeo 2ltr TDCI Auto 53 plate - My speedo does not work. - cookspeaking

The speed on my car does not work. The garage was told that it was a sensor in the dash board, it was removed and sent to the experts who bench tested it and gave it the all clear.

Ford technical suggested it could be a sensor linked to the auto gear box ( this wa overhauled 18 months ago) stil no luck as they say the gear box will have to be stripped down to get to 3 sensors

The car has been in the garage for 2 months please can you help as the bill is rising fast

This may not be relevant to your specific problem but I had an intermittent speedo 'drop-out' problem over a 6 month period with mine,(same auto model and year as yours). Did not suspect battery as I'd had it checked, but when it eventually died at 7 years old and I replaced it the problem disappeared !

How long did the battery hang on in there while you drove around without any speedo.

I only ask as I seem to have the same problem.

Has the problem returned at all ?
