Audi A6 2.8SE - Nearside steering rack gaiter split - John F

My 1998 uberwagen has disgraced itself by failing its MoT. My respected and highly experienced independent says it looks a very difficult job to get at but he'll have a go. Has anyone any tips I can pass on, please? [I'm not going to even think about trying it myself!]

There are inner wing removeable covers arount eh rack end and shield for the rack bellows. You will need a special open ended spanner to remove the track rod. PM me your email address or post up you email address. Regards Peter
