BMW - Antifreeze - Collos25

Went over to the local garage to buy some engine antifreeze for just in case reasons after our first snow and was confronted with not only different colours but semi organic and full organic I have heard of organic potatoes etc but have the green wellies moved into the antifreeze market..

Unblinkingbelievable!

Do you think it`s aimed at Mrs Posh Farmer`s wife, you know, the ones whose husbands spray their thousands of acres of crops with poisonous chemicals but their wives can be seen buying organic fruit&veg in the supermarket?!

BMW - Antifreeze - quizman
I would not let my wife buy organic food, it's the biggest con ever.

Farmers spend a lot of money and time making sure the food you eat is of the highest quality.

I am not posh either.

OP, do not mix different types of antifreeze.
BMW - Antifreeze - injection doc
its the corrosion inhibitors that are organic so its free from phosphates amines
nitrates and boron

Every day`s a school day!

`Spose the word organic has several meanings....not all of them wholesome.

For what reason would vehicle manufacturers want to use better antifreeze?Didn`t we reach sufficient quality for engine coolant years ago?Aren`t power units over-engineered with good life-span/operating quality already, surely they don`t want them lasting any longer?

Don`t get me started on farming ,it`s too big a subject which I`ve been well connected to!.....waste/subsidies/amount of chemicals banned every year.Think about it,if a small container of a given chemical is diluted thousands of times in that huge tank of water atop the moon-buggy,yet still has a profound effect on its target,is that what you call safe when the sprayer-man has to wear a special suit and the obits here in the fens often have ex farm-workers or their wives dead in their 40`s/50`s.Non-hodgkins lymphoma ,leukaemia and other cancers.A cocktail of chemicals that haven`t been tested together and for any length of time......

BMW - Antifreeze - quizman

tdc, the new type of antifreeze lasts longer in the engine so that must be good. The bad is that you shouldn't mix it with the blue ethylene stuff. They colour it red so you don't make a mistake.

Why do you comment on farming when it is obvious that you know nothing about it? Arable farmers have to go on courses and take exams so that they use the products correctly. Products are tested for several years to make sure they are safe for the farmer and consumer. Protective clothing is worn in many professions.

People are living longer than ever due to a good diet and good health care.

I eat British food where possible because I know it is safe. It is the fast food that might make folk ill, I've seen what goes in some of the stuff people eat when drunk on a saturday night.

"the new type of antifreeze lasts longer in the engine so that must be good"

Unless you breathe in the hot vapours(when your heater matrix starts to leak in the cabin or during drain-down for maintenance)Just checked out the info on the new generation of so-called organic antifreezes, carcinogenic is a word that comes up.Also classified as more harmful to the environment than some other types.

Don`t remember the bro-in-law saying he`d been on any courses or taken any exams connected with his arable farm.My family had a fruit farm(organic, nobody was conned)Fully qualified Agricultural Mechanic amongst other things myself.

As for people living longer, maybe this applies to the ones who are not dying before their time?!Our family training(epidemiology&nutrition)brings us into contact with poisoned individuals for whom more chemicals are not a positive way forward !Hospitals and doctor`s surgeries still look full to me.Chemo continues to be a £multi-billion business that kills the patient before the cancer does. It`s the quality of life that`s important, not how long the quack can try and keep you alive by poisoning one biological pathway after another resulting in yet more symptoms for them to treat,as they lead you still further away from discovering the true underlying cause of your disease.

No1 cause of death in the western world is prescription medicine.

Good luck to the small farmer, but Big Pharma and Big Farma are inextricably linked.

British food?....sounds almost as elusive as the British car! `Spose the only thing we agree on is fast food.

Interesting topic about organic antifreece and all the various chemicals farmers use on the farm.

Talking about cancer and chemotherapy I know all about it.I was employed for twenty seven years by BP chemicals working with acetic formic anhydride propionic acids and ammonia as a technician .God knows how much I got in my longs over the years.Twenty seven years ago safety for employees was taking with a pinch of salt.Got diagnosed with oesophageal cancer ,had all the chemotherapy which often nearly killed me all the poison what is pumped in your system for and after the nine hr operation. The surgeon and the team and back up nurses are top class who saved me and luck is on my side.People i knew and who had the same op. as me have passsed away.Iasked the surgeon about my tumor and how I got it and they dont know.Iam not asking for any symphaty its not about that. But anybody working with chemical substances protect yourself or get away from it .I still think I picked up my cancer from all the chemical coctails i used to work with.

BMW - Antifreeze - Collos25

I know how you feel I have bladder cancer I am lucky in fact they caught it quiet early as it normally gives no symptoms till it is to late the chemo I have now only twice a year is not very nice but not as bad as yours by the sound of it.I worked in the telecomms and building industry and as you say safety was not even thought about.

BMW - Antifreeze - Dutchie

You are lucky Andy at least the cancer was detected early in your case and with the right treatment and good doctors you be ok.My cancer was in the second stage and the survival rate used to be 5 % gone up to 20% now and maybe higher depending on the reaction of your body.People who never had chemo I cant describe it I used to be on treatment for 8 hrs and all my body used to shut down .Never mind Andy we keep battling on I wont mention Panzers anymore.:)

BMW - Antifreeze - Collos25

You mention what you want and spell it how you like I do.

BMW - Antifreeze - tdc

Sorry, perhaps I should have been a bit more tactful when mentioning Chemo.

All the best with your recoveries Dutchie and Andy.

Rather than taking an opportunity to bash big Pharma,I should have commented on what can be done to greatly offset the negative effects of this process which kills the good cells along with the bad.

If anyone is about to undergo chemo please research it well and even if your own doctor is not willing to provide the counteracting supplements, you can buy them for yourself.

http://www.beating-cancer-gently.com/aboutme.html

Haven`t evaluated Bill Henderson`s techniques fully but he often uses huge amounts of VitD3(NOT VitD2) supplements himself(no doubt he has regular 25hydroxyVitD3 blood tests to make sure he doesn`t reach toxic levels...as he`ll reach optimum levels much faster than someone who`s seriously ill)

Last year you may have read/seen the report on the NZ dairy farmer in a coma with swine flu&leukaemia, the hospital wanted to switch his life-support off but the family made some good contacts incl necessary legal ones to force the hospital to administer VitC intravenously. The farmer talks about his recovery as if it`s a miracle. This is not some isolated incident and is something which can be repeated time&time again if the correct procedures are permitted.....but there`s no patent on Vits therefore no money for Big Pharma ,wait until Natural Health is criminalised."Nutricide".Reckon only around 55,000 of us signed the No10 petition against Codex Alimentarius last year.

Talking of Petrochems Dutchie,do you know what happened to the proposed extractor units for removing fumes from filling station forecourts.I know of people who work in attended fuel stations who have to breathe those fumes in on a daily basis.Saw someone this week on the box filling up in California and the pump nozzle had a black attachment so assume the US are ahead of the UK on that one?

Thanks for your nice letter and advice tdc. When I was first diagnosed with this cancer the first question I asked the doc how long have I got to live and can you operate. In my case Ihad two operations one operation to check if the major operation could go ahead ,if the cancer had moved to other parts of my body it would have been a matter of time.My chemo was a mixture of stay in hospital and tablets at home .I hope Andy's body reacts better than what mine did .I struggled .I was often very sick and ended up dehydrated which was very painfull.I wanted to stop with the chemo. But the oncologist persisted and they gave me a lower dose of chemo.I think I agreed with the treatment because of fear,I want to live.Good familie to much to fight for. When I started at BP we had extraction fans when we where working with formic and anhydride acids but no mask and a lot went in your longs .That procedure is finished now by BP.I dont know what happend to the extractor units tdc on forecourts maybe cost why they stopped maybe they are ahead in the USA unless we as customers demand better care for us at filling stations it can't be good for your health breathing those fumes in .You problaby know more about this than me but what about all the chemicals in our food for young children .Sorry I have gone on a bit but this is a massive subject and no doctor can tell me yet where cancer is coming from.

BMW - Antifreeze - tdc

Like you say Dutchie this is a massive subject. We could talk about it until the cows come home!Sorry to hear you were so ill, hope you and Andy are on the mend now.

My father,an epidemiologist, has treated thousands of people over the last 30 years. Will try and condense the sequence/procedure he`s used with great success and add it here sometime soon.Much of it is also down to the will and determination of the patient to change any lifestyle which has dragged them down and to stick with crucial guidelines given.Even if in all innocence/ignorance someone has been doing something injurious to themselves for many years there is always a price to pay....we all fit into that category to some extent,I know I have. What has taken years to develop pathologically can`t be just dealt with by toxic treatment in an instant as we know,it`ll be down to how responsive and capable ones immune system is in the end.The answer is to get the body into a state where it can remove/repair the damage. We would all use antibiotics as a life-saver,in most cases there`s no option, but things like NSAID`s etc are often given out willy-nilly and there`s a health price to be paid for excessive use further down the line.

Andy mentioned his bladder cancer and how it was fortunately caught early,I lost a mate they diagnosed far too late.He had used prescription medicine for 25 years which could have been the cause or chlorinated tap water...that`s a favourite. When you see how an inorganic chemical like that works then it will come as no surprise. It`s in the swimming pools, absorbed through the skin,in the shower, absorbed through the lungs...and then people drink it.Chlorine compounds are found in breast tissue taken from the 1 in 8 of USA female population who have breast cancer .....but hey,Chlorine`s been used in drinking water treatment since 1904 so it must be safe!!

That`s just one chemical out of millions.

There are more and more chemical combinations for our bodies to deal with by the day,can understand your concern about our children`s&grandchildren`s health.Keep it organic,additive-free and as unprocessed as possible....that`s what the body recognises and prefers, the digestion/kidneys/liver will have a much easier time doing the normal metabolic functions they have to carry out, without being overburdened with synthetic chemicals/toxins and the like.

Biggest threat they now believe, comes from plastics with their off-gassing,once in the body only way out is through the skin apparently.Luckily that`s where the good old FIR sauna helps out.One of the best examples of off-gassing is the sealed environment of a new car,I`ll stick with 2nd-hand ones thanks!

I`m on Skype again soon so will pick the main man`s brains to see what he`d suggest to help you and others Dutchie.

BMW - Antifreeze - Collos25

Thanks, interesting mail I think the hardest problem is when the doctor first tells you that was something I would never wish on my worst enemy.I have five years of treatment with an inspection every six months I have now gone two years all clear so three to go.I have had good treatment on both the NHS and the German health system no complaints whatsoever but I am not the only one and some people are much worse than me.But this is a motoring forum so lets all cheer up and see if we can solve other peoples motoring problems.

BMW - Antifreeze - Dutchie

Thanks tdc like Andy is saying there is always somebody worse.Interesting article a lot to learn from.We have to keep our sense of humor I am going to have a glass of wine and read all the interesting car problems.Cheers to you in Dresden Andy.Proost in dutch.
