Hi, we have an 03 reg Nissan X-Trail with the YD22DDTi engine (Diesel 2.2). About a week or two ago it began displaying both the ABS warning light and the 4WD warning light on the dash. There is also a pecular faint humming sound (like a small motor) which appears (under bonnet) when the ignition key is in the 3rd position (Acc On -ie. the one before start). the engine is started, the sound cannot be heard - although this may be down to engine noise overpowering it rather than the noise expiring.

Does anyone know of any fault codes displayed on the dash like this on X-Trails?

The reason I suspect this (fault code) rather than ABS fault or 4WD transmission fault is because both lights appeared together and stay on all the time while the engine is running. Nothing is printed in the Owner's Manual about both being illuminated at the same time, just about each lamp individually.

Someone else on another forum (a Nissan one) seems to have encountered a similar thing but his comment has not been responded to. Google has yeilded sweet F.A so far...
