Hi

Recently I bought my 2nd car a Vw Golf Match Mk 4 2003 with 55 miles on the clock, im 20 and dont know much at all about cars.

After about a week a coil blew (easily fixed, didnt know at the time) and the exhaust emissions light was flashing, and in the manual it says if it is flashing then you need to stop driving imediately.

Called the AA and they fixed it no problem, the light went of and was running fine for about another week. The light started to come one for a few hours and then be gone when i turnt it on in the morning it would be of. Performance didnt seem affected at all.

Now the light stays on constantly, but still performance is not affected.

Any ideas on why this is?

Ive read about lambda probes, is it likely this which what some other sites are suggesting.

Oh and when the AA guy came he plugged it into a VAG??? and it didnt come up with anything else wrong with it.
