Hyundai Santa Fe - Cam Belt - r1cbm

Hi there,

I am looking at getting a second hand Santa Fe, 56 plate with 44k miles on the clock, 2.2 diesel. Does it have a cam belt or chain, and if so when does it need to be changed?

Any ideas? I have mailed Hyundai to no avail....

There is a list of chain equipped engines in the "Ask Honest John" section, at the top of the page. I don't know how exact it is, but the 2.2 Santa Fe from 2010 is listed as chain drive. So perhaps there has been cambelts before this one?

I think its a belt driven engine ,give a garage a ring there's plenty of Santa Fe's about they should tell you for sure if its belt or chain.
