Picasso 1.6 HDi 2005 71,000 miles - Slight Squeak.. help/ its driving me NUTs - spooky

Hey and thanks in advance for any advice :)

My car makes a slight squeaking noise.. it only does this in low gear (1-2) and when pulling away from stationary ..

ive checked the fan belt.. its tensioned and not slack and i cant see it slipping..Someone has told me that doing a lot of short journeys causes this and also that water/oil on the belt would also cause this..

It was intrim services (apparently) 6 weeks ago when i brought it.. any ideas//

Does it do it just as you pull away / engage 2nd. Is there a similar squeak when you shut the engine down?

Could well be the DMF....back to the supplying dealer if so for replacement!

If it's 5 years old with 70k on the clock there won't be any warranty left.

With a squeak on starting and stopping the engine it is likely to be the Dual Mass Flywheel, but they are very expensive.

The squeak suggests it is when torque effects are greatest: starting off.

Suggests engine or gearbox mounts or exhaust mountings. Try WD40 on them all - being careful not to spray disks or belts of course..

Failing that it COULD be the crankshaft pulley..
