Hi,
I got my second hand Audi the other week. When I was driving it home on the motorway I noticed it lost power (no turbo), was still able to drive it but no thurst even at high revs. I thought this maybe becuase the fuel was very low therefore I stopped at the fuel station and topped up and it has been fine since this 2 weeks ago. Problem solved I thought!
Granted I have only been driving around town it it during the past 2 weeks it has been fine. Today I had to do a 150 mile motorway journey there and back. Everything was going fine and regularly hitting 90mph on the motorway and after about 100 miles the turbo stopped again, even going up hill on the motorway the vans were taking over me!!!! Very worrying!!
I stopped at the destination and on the way back the turbo was fine again but 60 miles into the journey on the motorway the same thing happened again. I stopped at the service station and after that for the next 30 miles the turbo was fine and then it stopped again. I then noticed the Emissions Control System light was on in the middle of the rev counter. It says in the handbook when this light comes on to take the car to the nearest dealer.
I'm quite worried on after shelling out 6.5k on the car. Does anyone have a clue about the problem and do you think I can ask the garage I got the car from?
Any replies or comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Darrell
