A sad day? - Highway Star
I got my Cavalier scrapped today to make room for something classier. It's worrying to think how much it cost new and now I had to pay somebody to take it away. I wasn't sorry to see it go - it was heavy, sluggish and so full of rust and filler that it wasn't even magnetic anymore. Anyone else been glad to see the back of a car?

My Ford Explorer - what a heap - the biggest and most expensive (motoring) mistake of my life - so a happy day (apart from the big hole in my bank account)

I have an old fashioned belief that applying pressure to the RH pedal should make the car go faster...

I had an equally old fashioned belief that when you turned the key it should start!

Yep, my 1986 Rover 820e fastback. Low mileage, spotless bodywork and nice to drive but what a pile of rubbish ! Lost ££loads on it but at least had the satisfaction of getting rid !

I wasn't sad when I got rid of my 1977 Lancia Delta HPE. What a rust bucket!

I sold my 1967 Lotus Elan S3 two years ago. great fun.. went like #### off a shovel. Great noise, very uncomfortable, not very reliable...but who cared..

Shame...

I was sad to scrap my first ever car - a 1961 Ford Popular 100E, but the suspension was about to shoot through the front wings so it had to go. Replaced by a 1959 105E Anglia - much more fun and much more troublesome.

We started off with the same first two cars.
After the Anglia you didn't by any chance graduate to a Mk1 Cortina, by any chance?

The car I was most releived to see the back of was a Renault 5 1.4GTL bought new in 1986. Trouble from start to finish. Terrible quality engineering.
