Ford Focus - Confused about cambelt/chain - primeradriver

Just bought a Focus 1.6, a 2007/56 plater with the 100PS engine. HJ states that this should be camchain, but I've noted a few internet sellers doing belts for this engine.

Before I contact Ford, what's the status with this engine?

It's cambelt, the 1.8 and 2.0 are camchain.

As another person has said, it is belt not chain. These engines are not prone to belt problems either, and I think the belt change interval is quite large, ie 100K.

They do not drive the water pump from the cam belt.
