ford Mondeo 2.0 tdci 115. - Rattle from alternator belt area - burge

I have a rattle coming from the alternator end of the engine its not the alternator though as this checks out ok. but from adjacent area. sounds like the air con but I know this is off.

Take a look at the belt tensioner.

If it is vibrating or bouncing around it will probably be a problem with the crankshaft mounted belt pulley.

These have a metal /rubber /metal construction & often start to break up & go oval.
