Rover 75 - Instrument Panel Mystery - dazzsaward

I have a Rover 75 2001 2.0CDT Conn SE Manual.

In the top middle of the instrument panel between the speedo and the rev counter, sits the message centre for the trip computer. After selecting whichever function I want information about (e.g. Range, mpg etc), the information is only shown for a short time before the message centre goes blank. IS THIS NORMAL? The message centre does display other information permanently such as if there's a bulb failure or if there is a door open etc.

I've finally found the thread on 75andzt site, and as I thought, the trip computer information DOES disappear after a short time and it is a standard function which cannot be changed by using the t4 diagnostic reset tool :(

Well that's another thing that does not need fixing :)
