1.2L SXI+ Corsa - Learner Insurance? - MrMonster

I'm looking to be insured on my family members SXI+ Corsa until my test in 3 weeks, I found a quote from Collingwood Learners insurance and they quoted me £96 for 28 days insurance on the car.

My question is, if I pay that, am I then legally allowed to drive the vehicle accompanied by someone who has been driving for 5 years who is 22 years of age? If not, what other processes must I complete to be able to drive the vehicle?

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Fit "L" plates ;-)

Is the insurance in your name and if so did you tell them it was not your car?

It will probably be cheaper to add you to the current insurance as a learner, don't remember it being that expensive when we did it for our 2 learners - and that was on a new Audi.

I'll give you the website and you take a look at the form? Because i'm not entirely sure. I did email them and they replied with that they are insuring me, and not the car, therefore as long as I display L plates, am accompanied by someone driving more than 3 years and over 21, then I am legitimate to drive the vehicle under their insurance without first consulting the current insurer because it doesn't qualify as a dual insurance policy on the car because they are insuring me. If that makes sense? Anyway the website is > www.collingwoodlearners.co.uk/LEARNERDRIVERS_WEB/U...m

Thank you for your reply.

Was you insuring a 17 year old male btw? Just to justify prices, I will contact the current insurer if you believe it will be cheaper, I just considered it as cheap because my insurance when I pass will be £300-500 monthly, not £96. However i'm unexperienced so I am totally lost when it comes to these topics.
