Hyundia i30 - Traffic Announcements - bintang

The audio system on my car (2 years old) is good apart from a poor tuner. When the TA button is pressed, there are frequent drop-outs as well as traffic announcements. Now, I get the drop-outs but no announcements. (The drop-outs can be stopped by switching out of TA). No amount of fiddling with the controls helps. What is likely to be wrong please?

The Clarion as fitted to my truck does exactly this, i don't bother with the TA and tbh i never put the two together, though could be connected.

I wondered if the drop outs...3or4 seconds are when the radio decides to find a stronger signal, the Pioneer in my car never misses a beat (groan) by comparison.

The truck aerial isn't of much use, and i did improve the signal a lot by extending it several feet with a coat hanger hooked around the safety rail 3 feet above the cab, hardly advising you to try similar, though even then it still has lapses, is the Hyundai aerial long/good enough.
