Two months before I bought a citroen xsara picasso 2003 make from a dealer for £1900.
Recently I came to know that this car was a category D write-off vehicle. But it was not informed to me when i asked about the Hpi clearance.
Will I be able to a claim for refund.
Will be grateful if you could give your opinion on this.
Thanks in advance

This is legally complicated and my advice would be to see Citizens advice. Was it a trader if so you may have come back, if it was a private sale it would end up going to court and you probably won't win even if you are in the right.
Although a cat D affects resale value it was probably nothing more than a cracked bumper and light. I would be more worried if it was a CAT C.

Not so sure you should have such a concern about all cat Cs - cautious, yes.
I'm the current owner of cat C BMW 530D. It was always a good reliable car until I got water in the engine last November during the floods in West Cumbria - nowhere else, just the engine. I bought the car back from the insurers and it's having a replacement engine fitted. It should make a fine car for someone (I've already bought a replacement otherwise I'd keep it myself).

Just water in the engine? Potential for longer term electrical issues perhaps?
