06 1.6 Vauxhall engine oil who makes it? - piston power
Just done the 3yr service on the astra used genuine parts plugs,air filter oil& filter & pollen filter, mileage at 25k almost out of warranty 56 reg.

Who makes the engine oil is it shell?

I used 5w-30 vauxhall own brand fully synthetic i did look at others but it holds 4.5ltrs with filter and mobil 1 is only 4ltrs some others were the same at £16.00 & £2.50 for the oil filter it's worth it.

When the insp indicator comes on soon is it hold down mileage trip counter plunger turn on ignition and wait a few secs for it to clear?

Shell make the factory fill oil, but the parts dept. oil is supplied by GM-owned Delphi.
It is almost certainly made in Belgium by Castrol, as is the Quantum oil sold in VAG dealers.

Yours will probably require the brake pedal to be pressed at the same time as the trip reset.
