Seat belt warning ping. - DeDentist
Being a Taxi driver i dont have to wear a seat belt with passengers, but having to keep
hearing that aweful noise for the journey is unbearable { unless i blast out the sounds }
Someone told me a few days ago to clip + unclip the seatbelt in 7-8 times and it stops..

True enough it worked... But pushing the Red button in-out 5-6 times does the trick to,
Pure bliss to my ears.

Why don't you just wear your belt ?

Just pushing the red button in once used to do it on my old Mk3

It is possible to permanently disable this. Involves more than just clipping and unclipping the belt - you'll probably find it on there somewhere with a forum search.

Here's the fix:
Turn the ignition on without starting the engine.
Wait until the seat belt warning light goes off.
Then the next 3 steps must be completed within 60 seconds.
Buckle then unbuckle the seat belt three times, ending with the belt unbuckled.
Turn the headlights ON then OFF.
Buckle then unbuckle the seat belt three times ending with it unbuckled again.
After this the seat belt warning light will be on for a couple of seconds, wait for it to go out.
Then, within seven seconds of the seat belt light going off, buckle then unbuckle the belt. This will disable the belt warning.
The seat belt warning light flashing four times per second for three seconds confirms that the belt warning is disabled.
Switching it back on again requires the same procedure.

I never understand this attitude. My father recently retired from taxi driving and he also never wore a seat belt when working. Madness. I don't accept the argument that you are in and out of the car all the time, it is a proven safety issue that seatbelts save lives and takes seconds to put the belt on or take it off.

My father didn't even wear his seat belt when he was doing airport runs on the motorway unless (and I quote) "it's raining as I'm more likely to crash"!!!!!

Wear your seat belt.

Rant over.

I agree that wearing a belt should be an issue. I disabled mine because it was annoying when moving the car on the drive etc. I'd never drive without the belt on.
