I'm unable to identify a retro looking car. - Honda Buyer
Hi all,

i recently saw a 'retro' looking car on a 2004 plate that looked like a Nissan Figaro, but I don't think it was a figaro as they are all registered in 1990-91, and this one looked a bit more 'updated' but still had the looks of a figaro..

can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me some options as to the company/model of the car i saw??

thanks!

That would be the same car that was mentioned in this months Car Mechanics in the 'Ear to the Ground' Section, there was some kind of problem with them but I can't remember what.

The Copen was an official import (unlike the Figaro) so parts supply should be better, insurance easier, etc.

We have several Figaros in my area, including one in pink....

All look to be in remarkably good condition.

looked at the figaro, just not too keen on the age of them....they do look lovely though!....like the copen and it is much newer so am just looking into it at the moment...

Rust! Even on cars just three years old or so. There is a lot of correspondence on this on one of the Daihatsu forums. Nice little car but read the relevant forum for the low-down on some of these cars and the stand of the importer. Google 'Daihatsu Copen rust'.

As noted above by a member rust is a problem.

The other issue was a strong smell of petrol in the cabin. This is caused by the sparkplugs working loose, those that ignored the smell were rewarded with a spark plug that blew out of the engine causing more damage. This was reported for the 660cc turbo model but they aren't sure if it will effect the 1300cc non turbo or not.

Doesnt appear to be any problems with the Yaris 1.3 or the Sirion that I was able to find.
