BMW 1 series - how much in common with rover ? - diddy1234

I have been reading that the BMW 1 series diesel engine was originally used in the Rover 75.
I believe this to be a rover based engine.

This got me thinking, what else of the series 1 is from Rover (75) ?

The air in the cabin and the tyres comes from the same manufacturer, I believe.

It's the other way around - the diesel engines used in the 75 used the same core 2.0 engine as used in the 3- and 5-series BMWs.
