Ive just bought a Kangoo Venture dci 80.does anyone know where an alternative vin number location might be on this model,the plastic imprint on the drivers door frame has been damaged by water getting behind it. the vin is unreadable ,is the vin stamped into the chassis/ bulkhead, inner wing. etc can anyone help. regards tony.

can you not part verify the car is cosha via the log book?
or just do a hpi basic

got the log book, done hpi and vosa/mot test.these all match. none of these are any use unless you can see a vin number on the vehicle,it could be a ringer.The vin number is on a plastic sticker on the drivers door frame, its been damaged by water. Is it imprinted into the metal anywhere on the bodywork subframe etc .regards tony

itinerants like ringing renaults
this might be why then
i can only suggest you ring vosa or renault,unfortunately you cant ring the local vosa centre anymore but have to go via HO they will put you through if you ask though the vosa number is

Phone a Renault dealer and ask where it is stamped-usually to be found in two or more places.The police will also know.

thankyou for your suggestions. I finally asked renault uk. a vin number is located on the front nearside of the dash.Its obscured by the black surround that covers the inside of the windscreen.Apparently its not stamped into the metal anywhere . not very secure and easily swapped to a different vehicle ? tony
