I have a 1997 vectra & have just changed the battery in the locking remote control & now it does not work, i belive it
now has to be programed up but i have no handbook can someone
look in there book & let ne know.

Hi

I have a 1999 Vectra, and the manual states that you have 3 minutes to insert a new battery once the old one is removed, failing that the system needs 'synchronising'. To Synchronize, follow these steps:

1) switch on ignition, system will be in sync. mode for 30 seconds
2) briefly press any button on the remote, with key in ignition.
3) central locking system locks and unlocks to show sync is complete.

That's absolutely right, and a big benefit of the Vauxhall is the easy remote synchronising.

Just as well as my experience with the Vectra is that the unit loses coding in about 3 seconds never mind 3 minutes!
