They are hard to come by.

Some local colleges will do courses, but with the way Further Education is going, they are usually now providing vocational training for companies (ie vehicle manufacturers) and even then the provision is usually outsourced. Part time adult education (ie evening courses) has fallen out of favour due to lack of subsidy, which has made them more expensive and thus less popular so they don't run so many.)

Try your local college websites, learn direct and open university and search for things like "automotive" "vehicle" and "motor". You are unlikely to get a home learning course in a practical subject.

I looked in to doing a mechanics course at my local college.

Daytime studies (any subject) are a joke.

Unless you are prepared to sit in a room full of dead beat 'gobby' teenagers that are only there to get and qualify for the EMA allowance (and no ther reason) think twice about doing this.

I opted for evening classes - longer to complete but a lot easier as you do not have the disruptive element of the 'where's my EMA payment' crowd.
