I have had my escort for about a year now and the car was great for a while then everything started to go wrong with it the head gasket the fan. Just to name a couple so instead of changing the head gasket i just put a knew motor in it i figured it would need it sooner or later so what the hell. i got it all done and the engine was finally running. All of the suddon out of the blue the car dies.instantly. For some reason it is not getting gas. i cant get the injector to turn back on. there is gas at the injector it just won't spray. So i changed the injector and injector wiring. Still nothing. so i changed the computer and still it won't start i just cant seem to find the problem i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem? can you help me?

Firstly check for a spark at the plug. If the sysytem sees no spark it will not give you fuel.If no spark suspect crank sensor or no power in the system. If spark present you should hear the fuel pump run briefly as you power up the system and also it should continue running for a moment after you have stopped cranking it. If no fuel pump check for power at the pump. If no power at pump check inertia switch (if fitted) and relay. Also fuse boxes cause problems. Check for power on one of the terminals on the injector plug. You should by now have some results to come back to us with,
Good luck.

There was spark that was the first thing i checked for when finding out why the car wasn't running and since it had spark i knew it wasn't getting gas. there was power at the injector plug but the injector wasn't getting any ground there for it wouldn't run. The computer is what turns the ground on for the injector to run the computer shut down because of a hot and a ground wire rubbing together i changed the computer and then taped up the wires and off she went. Thanks andrew!
