01 1.0 Bonnet:removing salvage yard markings - mikem004
Just bought a bonnet from a car breakers.

The salvage yard has written on the bonnet, stuff about the make & model etc.
There is some small lettering in white, looks like they used tippex. Also some larger lettering in yellow.

Whats the best way to clean this off? I was thinking of a plastic scourer...

Thanks
Mike

Don't scourer the bonnet. Wipe it off with iso-propanol achohol or try white spirit. Regards Peter

Thanks.
Won't white spirit affect the bonnet paint?

Not at all. I always use white spirit to remove tar marks from the paintwork - followed by a good waxing/polishing afterwards.

White spirit will not effect the paint. A plastic scourer will scratch glass let alone paint.
