I am appauld at what I have read about the tecnical problems with the peugeot 307. I just bought a 2001 1.6 LX. 35,500 on the clock. After having the middle and back boxs replaced the anti-pollution fault has come on. I have filled up with v-tec Shell recommended in other forums. I've driven about 25 miles. Is that enough or does it take longer? Any other ideas?

I am guessing petrol? The supplying dealer may be responsible for rectifying faults occuring the first 6 months of ownership SFAIK.

At least a tankful for a result I would have thought.

well, I have to admit i got the car through an auction. yes, i should have known but i hope i can get it sorted for my daugthers sake. the car is a petrol. the exhaust was installed by my local garage. i'm schedulled for a full service tomorrow at my local garage. i'm hoping they can sort it but i fear my local dealership will make another killing. i'll run a tank of shell ve-tec through and see what happens. thanks for your help.

Hello Scott,
i get this problem sometimes showing up, i just fill up with V-power and take it on a good thrash once a while. also ive you run a search for peugeot 307 on this website you will get lots of threads on this subject.

well, i took my car down to a local garage for a major tune up. It was due. The garage told me they hooked my car up to a machine and found the fault. They simply cancilled the fault code after the tune up the light has not been back on. So, I'm very happy. Thanks for everyones imput.

My '03 406 HDi 90 (had from 28,000 - 167,000 miles) used to come up with "Anti Pollution Fault" intermittently about once a month or so. I never figured out why as long as I drove the car, but from what I've read on here in the last year or so it means the DPF needs to regenerate and you've been driving it around town and not allowed it to get hot (hot enough for the radiator fan to cut in) for at least 30 minutes or so.
My solution therefore would be to take it up the nearest motorway at 80mph in 4th gear for a good 20 miles each way - that should clear all the gunk out and make the engine breathe a lot more easily.
Dave TD.
PS Sorry if there's any spolling or punctua;tion errors, it's a bit late on a Friday night ;-)

Thanks for your advice. I tried everything mentioned to no avail. So i paid £50 for dealer to check. They tried to sell me the cat. Plus lambda sensor etc. £500. I said no thank you and will keep driving. I was told by my local garage that the lambda sensor was the reason for the fault.
