Can anyone recommend some stick on protectors for sills and the area inside the rear doors etc. These are already taking a bashing on my new car from handbag buckles, metal buttons shoes etc. Clear would be ok but something coloured would be better as it would hide the scratches already there. Thanks.

Have a look on ebay for stainless steel.

Try searching by seller on Ebay for 'superdials'. I bought a set of Lockwood stainless steel ones for my Focus 2.5 years ago and they have been excellant. Still about £25-26 inc. postage.

Google for "scuff plates".

Yes, I have experience of just what you're asking. My Honda is new and I was conscious of catching the inner sill with my heel and looked firstly at the Honda offering. It's stainless, cost's quite a bit and doesn't extend to the outer edge - which is, of course, the bit you're likely to catch. I used a clear PVC/plastic material of the same type and thickness that would be used for decorative/protective film coverings on the side of vehicles. Look at a Peugeot Partner Escapade or Quicksilver and you'll see a strip of patterned and clear material down the side...this is the sort of stuff you want. It comes in colours or clear and you can get it mail order.....type in 'protective vehicle film' or similar and you'll see loads of it. I went to a place in East London/Essex when I was in that area and got a superb job done on all 4 doors for about £45 to supply and fit - it was cut to shape and fixed on site by a bloke who is a genius. You could also do it in black if you so chose.

Just found their details. I recall recommending them in the past for something similar but can't recall what right now...... www.viscount-international.co.uk/

Thanks KB, just what I was looking for. The stainless sill protectors look great but do not cover all the areas I want. It was film I was really after.

Ah, but once you've got your stainless steel sill protectors you'll be worried about them getting scuffed and scratched, so back to square one!!
