hi i am having trouble with unlocking the car with fob that is built into key i have two keys both with remote buttons and 1 grey key that has no buttons, i can lock the car ok but when you press the lock button for the second time it used to double lock and activate the alarm and the led would flash on the console to tell you that it was set.. now it just locks with no alarm set....it will NOT
unlock the car you have to insert the key into the barrel and do it manually which only opens the driver door...if you get in the car and turn ignition on and use the lock /unlock button on the driver door console works ok...checked all fuses etc any ideas ...

does any one out there know how to programme a key for avensis 99 1.8 cdx, i have two keys the same with the remote buttons built in and one grey key that has no buttons, i assume this is a master key ... the car locks with remote but wont unlock,,any help appreciated.

did you sort keys out? if not i had same problem a couple of years ago...bit of a rigmoroll but i think i've still got instructions somewhere if you want them

hello mate you responded to a previous note i left about the locking of the doors with remote ,,,you said you may still have the sequence wrote down ,,if you have info it would be appreciated cheers dave.

Hi mate
sorry about delay...been busy !!
here are instructions for key reprogramming central locking/alarm that worked for me;
*Drivers door open and key removed from ignition switch
*Insert key into ignition then remove it
*Close all doors,then open any door twice within 40 secs
*Within 40 secs
*Insert key into ignition,then remove it
*Close all doorss, then open any door twice
*Close all doors
* Switch ignition ON and OFF once to program a new remote code whilst retaining the origional codes or twice to program a new remote code whilst erasing the origional codes
*Remove key
*System should now lock and unlock car,once or twice depending which mode has been selected
*Within 25 seconds
*Press and hold key lock button
*Press unlock button 5 times
*Release lock button
*Press and release lock or unlock button once
*System should now lock and unlock car
*If required repeat button procedure to program remaining keys
* Note,A max of 4 keys can be programmed
This really did work!! I got this from auto data,my avensis - 1.8 SE 1999

Pls the key to ma toyota avensis 1999 does not start my engine again.I went to my mechanic and he told me the key is not programmed.I got another new key,pls how can programme it?
