01 2.0 hdi starting problem - scfc_151

When starting the car sometimes its fine and fires up straight away other times it just turns over even when the engine is hot.

I was just wondering if it could be an ignition switch or something as its intermittant. The low pressure pump was replaced last year.

Just as a point of interest once its decided its not going to start 1st time if I turn the key slowly it usually starts a 2nd time

PS, someone mentioned camshaft and crankshaft sensors being dirty or faulty. Could this be the case and if so where are they located and what do they look like?
