Just sold my GF's 2003(52) polo Tdi sport 1.9 with full MOT 63.5k, Inside was immaculate outside usual wear and tear.1 month tax. 3 door Silver.
A nice couple came liked it paid the full £3k asking price in cash with no haggling. Now I know this is a good car and we've half heartedly advertised it for 3 weeks now but this is the firs viewer. We're happy with the price and to have it gone(we had 4 cars for 2 of us) But have we undervalued it??
The whole transaction was a pleasant experience. I really wasn't looking forward to it.

Seems about right to me, its knocking on six years old, it has a fairly complex diesel engine the fact you didn't have much interest shows you probably have not undervalued it.

It's a 2003 car so on a 52 plate it's around 6 years old. The VW PD engines are not that complex unless you meant it will be a PD engine.

Haven't checked for this Polo, but my 52 Focus now books at about £1,900.

Polo might be worth a shade more, so basic trade price about £2,500, retail from a reputable site with a guarantee, about £4,000.

Private sale somewhere in between, so £3,000 is pretty much spot on.

Thanks. I was pleased to see it go(we had 4 cars for two of us) and the transaction was fairly painless. Pleased to see it went to a nice young lady as her daily car to replace a 1.1 clio which had packed in.
